Enix has announced the release date for its upcoming GameBoy Color RPG, Star Ocean: Blue Sphere. Fans of the series will be able to follow the continuing story of Claude and Rena when the game is released in Japan on June 28th. It is planned to retail for 6400 yen (about $50).
Star Ocean: Blue Sphere is the direct sequel to the 1999 PlayStation title, Star Ocean: The Second Story. Blue Sphere maintains such gameplay features as private actions, weapon and item creation, and branching plot lines. The title will support the GameBoy Color's link cable, allowing two players pit their parties against one another in combat sequences. No North American release date for the game has been made known at this point.
