Despite the discontinuation of the Dreamcast confirmed by Sega earlier this week, Sega of America president and COO Peter Moore confirmed that the company would continue to support software titles still in progress for the Dreamcast. One such title is Shenmue 2, being developed by AM2. During a media teleconference, Moore said little about the game; however, he did announce Sega's plans for its North American release, which is now slated for November 2001.
Shenmue 2 encompasses chapters 2 through 6 of the game's overall story, and features many improvements over the impressive original. Moore did not pin down a Japanese release date during the conference; all that is known at this point is it will arrive sometime this year.
