3DS, Wii U Services Discontinuation Date Set

Nintendo has announced that it will discontinue all online services for 3DS and Wii U software on April 8, 2024, at 4pm PDT. Features that will no longer be available include online play, rankings, data distribution, and the Nintendo Badge Arcade. However, should there be any difficulties in keeping its online services going, then it will be discontinued much earlier.

StreetPass will continue as it connects to other 3DS handhelds locally, but SpotPass will come to an end as it requires an online connection. Features for Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter will still be available, but it is unknown for how long. Third-party publishers will need to be contacted to find out if their services will continue.

I have been gaming since I received the Sega Master System as a young child, which was the first console I ever owned (Yes, I am that old). The game that got me into RPGs was Final Fantasy VIII, a game that I still adore to this day. My favorite RPG of all time, however, is Shadow Hearts on the PS2. I do have many other interests outside of gaming as well, such as watching old-school wrestling, Reading books, 80s movies.... or anything 80s related as a matter of fact.
