** Application for RPGamer Editorials: Assistant ** Complete and email to editor@rpgamer.com by 12:00 PM PST, April 14, 2001 Please note that this is not a full 'staff' position. This is an assistant position for the Editorials section, and is dealt with internally within the Editorials wing, and not with the rest of the site. If you are seeking a staff position within the site itself, be it through news, media, or the other interactive sections of RPGamer, or if you're seeking payment for services, this isn't the job you want to apply for. This job entails: 1. Recieving and reading through editorials, sending e-mail for those which won't be accepted in the first screen, detailing why they won't be accepted. 2. Verifying that all editorials which make it past the first screen have the necessary information attached, and if not, retrieve the missing information from the authors. 3. Correcting any spelling and grammatical mistakes with the remaining editorials. 4. Returning the screened editorials to me, as well as a list of editorials which were not accepted as well as why they weren't accepted. 5. Assisting in RPGamer Editorials work, working with others on internal projects. 6. Being present on RPGamer's Editorial Channel (#edscorner) for a fair amount of time. Extra duties that will be required: These will have to be done once every three weeks (if desired), as well on occasions which I can't update for various reasons. I will assist as much as possible, but these will be your responsiblities: 1. HTMLing editorials into the editorials template, or correcting and completing ones which have been sent and have been accepted. 2. Updating the main editorials page, which involves quite a bit of HTML work, as well as updating the three archives. (They being by date, by author and by topic, two of which are still in development.) 3. Explaining on the main page any reasons why I haven't been able to update. (If it isn't a scheduled break.) Please note that these extra duties will not be imposed more than once every three weeks, unless due to extreme circumstances and/or with piror notice and concent. Remember that all actions concerning editorials conducted by the sucessful applicant will be answerable to me. This includes late updates, poor updating, and the dismissal of editorials for non-editorial reasons. I will dismiss you if your performance is below standard consistently. For all Applicants: "Assistant Application: RPGamer Editorials" is to be the subject of the e-mail application. Any potential applications without this title will be ignored.
