Iwoke up this morning and looked out the window to see a decidedly large tree branch which evidently came crashing down last night. Would have destroyed the roof if the angle had been slightly different. Oh well, guess there's always next time.

Fire Emblemy Fun

Hi, this isn't for the column, okay? This is just one RPG head to another. And to anyone you happen to ask about it. Anyway, I need to get a list of the Fire Emblem games, numbered, with Japanese and English titles (rough translations are fine), and what system they were on. So far, I have the following.

(Jap title)(Number)(English title)(System)
Fire Emblem1Fire EmblemNES
Fire Emblem: Gaiden2Fire Emblem: The SequelNES
Fire Emblem: Monshou no Nazo3Fire Emblem: Mystery of the EmblemSNES
Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu4Fire Emblem: Genealogy of Holy WarsSNES
Fire Emblem: Trachia5Fire Emblem: ?????????????????????SNES
Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken7Fire Emblem: Ken Kicks Everyone's AssesGBA

Okay, I made the english title of the seventh one up, but I'm Kenny C, and so far it's true. If you could help me out with the actual english titles of 5 and 7, and every bit of info on the sixth game, I'd love you for ever. Or, if you really are a guy, then we'd be cool, yo. Anyway, float this to anyone better suited to it than you, but don't just let it vanish, oaky? Amish pulled that crap on me a while back, and I'll go Vengeance Joe on him soon enough... Thanks, and piece out. Your friend, Kenny Caruso.

Interesting interpretation of Gaiden there. Most go with "Side Story" or something along those lines. Anyway, though...
5- Thracia 776, SNES.
6- The Sealed Sword, GBA.
Oh, and seeing how FE7 is the only game which actually HAS an officially translated title, and it's just "Fire Emblem" you might want to go and call FE1 Dragon of Darkness and Sword of Light.

You realize of course though that we cover all these games, and you could have found that all out by popping into the Games section.

Up with Brevity Part 1

Is this the official RPG site or what?

That's a rather odd question. Are you asking if we're an officially recognized news organization dedicated to the coverage of RPGs? If so, yes. If you're asking on the other hand if we somehow represent the publishers of every RPG ever released in some official capacity, then the answer is no, and I believe that would be a legal impossibility.

I'm just waiting for someone to call it Final Fantasy Ecks Minus 2.

I A friend of mine likes to call it FF8.

If not Sephiroth McMoogle, what name would you suggest that I legally change my name to?

How about just Sire? Or Milord, that works too.

The Last Laugh:

That was a strange and silly column there. Hopefully tomorrow's letters with have a bit more substance to them.
